It has now been confirmed that the Take it back Movement coordinator of Kano State Usman Hasan Usman was abducted by the Nigerian DSS in Kano because of his involvement in the June 12 protest. The take it back Movement maintains its position that protest remains a fundamental right both human and constitutional.

It is therefore illegal for the DSS to continue to harass citizens who are clearly tired of the neo-liberal and anti people policies that the Tinubu regime has enforced on Nigerians which has plunged the masses into unbearable hardship.

We also wish to state that the use of the DSS to hunt down our comrades who are dedicated to revolutionary transformation is no surprise to us. The job of the DSS has always been to kidnap and murder revolutionaries in order keep Nigerians discouraged from rising up against economic, political oppression and also keep us under the boots of fascism.

Furthermore, comrade Usman Hasan Usman abduction by the DSS will not deter the Nigerian masses from expressing their frustration and pain, as a matter of fact it will continue to mobilize the working people of Kano and other states in Nigeria to rise up against the oppression of the ruling class.

Lastly, It is also shameful that The state governor of Kano State Abba Kabir Yusuf, who has experienced first hand oppression from the APC regime, as he had to fight to maintain his victory during the last election, is now working with the DSS to abduct citizens who are fighting for their survival in the country that suppose to meet their needs as citizen just like they did to Dadiyatta.

The Take it back Movement is therefore calling on the Abba Kabir Yusuf government and the DSS to release Usman Hasan immediately and unconditionally. We will not let this injustice stand not today, not ever
